Angelique is currently the Special Assistant to the Secretary for the Maryland Department of Human Services under the Moore-Miller administration. She previously served as the Policy Director at the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. She led the Policy department on domestic and international child welfare, adoption, and foster care reform.

Angelique has a wealth of policy experience and a personal passion for advancing equity. Her career includes roles with the offices of U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), and Ron Wyden (D-OR). During her time in Senator Brown’s office, she pursued notable legislative efforts such as the Family First Transition and Support Act, and Fostering Stable Housing Opportunities for Foster Youth Act both of which became law. Her portfolio also included education, immigration, transportation, infrastructure, civil rights and social policy.

While in graduate school at the McCourt School of Public Policy, Angelique served as a fellow with the City of Cleveland Department of Public Utilities. After graduating, Angelique served as the Ohio Policy and Outreach Manager at the Alliance for the Great Lakes where she worked on various water and environmental policy initiatives that serve the people of Ohio.

Angelique is skilled in the analysis of legislative policy, advocacy campaigns, constituent services, public affairs, event planning, project management, and capacity building. As a professional, Angelique seeks to hone her skills in policy and advocacy to push forward fair and equitable policies that transform communities.
