Charity Bell has been a foster parent for nearly 24 years. She has had the honor of caring for over 150 children of all ages — specializing now in the care of medically fragile infants— first as a young and single foster parent and with her husband and son, Max. Her commitment to engaging with, supporting, and ultimately reunifying families is one of her greatest strengths.

Charity understands the love that all parents have for their children, regardless of their ability to parent safely, having grown up in with a mom who struggled with brain health and addiction, leading to several interactions with the child welfare system before being left to live on her own for 6 months at the age of 15.

She has always been an advocate, going so far as to take babies into the classrooms as she pursued a graduate degree at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. “A conversation about public policy is very different with a newborn foster child in the room.”

Having worked hard to find her own peace, she speaks frequently on the brain, trauma, and the place In which perception impacts our everyday interactions with others. She is well known for her engaging, humorous, and deeply heartfelt connections with audiences of all sizes.

Charity Bell has been recognized as an “Everyday Hero” by Brian Williams of NBC and featured in Good Housekeeping Magazine for her work with more than 150 foster children in Massachusetts. RelentlessPositivity.org is the framework she created to provide humans with realistic, compassion based approaches to this incredibly challenging and amazing world we inhabit.
