"I’d heard about Treehouse but never knew what it looked like.
Seeing the gorgeous community gardens, the cottages and
the people of all generations clearly so at home gave me a huge
dose of inspiration at the end of my work day.” A Recent Treehouse Visitor
Just over fifteen years ago, Judy Cockerton drove her car over a bumpy dirt road through a field in Easthampton, with a view of beautiful Mt. Tom as a backdrop. She fell in love with the 11-acre meadow and was inspired by the land, trees, and the big red mountain. Opened in 2006, the pioneering Treehouse Community is a 60-home intergenerational neighborhood, so innovative and successful that replication sites are moving forward in California and near Boston.
